Privacy
Privacy Policy
Your privacy and session security are core to Sessiontail. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, what we never collect, and how your data is handled.
1. Local-First: What We Never Collect
We do NOT collect or transmit your local raw session files, local project directories, or any session that you have not explicitly chosen to publish. All redaction and secret scanning occur on your machine before upload. Redacted secrets never touch our servers.
2. Information We Collect
We collect basic account information (such as username, email address, and avatar provided during registration or GitHub OAuth sign-in), published session bundles (.sesh files), project metadata (titles, descriptions, tags), and Personal Access Tokens (PAT) generated for local CLI connection.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide and maintain the platform, authenticate your access, render session views and diffs, facilitate community forks and continuation, monitor system health, and protect against security abuse.
4. Storage, Retention & Cloud Infrastructure
Published session bundles and snapshots are stored immutably in secure cloud object storage. Account data and project indexes are stored in managed databases. We implement standard encryption in transit and at rest to protect your data.
5. Third-Party Sharing & Cookies
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We use minimal essential session cookies solely for user authentication and interface preferences (theme and language selection).
6. Your Rights & Data Deletion
You have the right to access, edit, or delete your account information, update project visibility, or delete your published projects and sessions at any time through your project settings and account dashboard.
7. Contact Information
If you have questions or concerns regarding our privacy practices or wish to submit a data deletion request, please reach out to our team via our support channels.
